Shayne Young | President
Shayne Young has been a board member of GrowRaton since December of 2024, and he serves as the organization’s president. Shayne is an Australian who has traveled the world since his early 20s and now calls Raton, New Mexico, home. A certified Land Rover ACE mechanic, Shayne’s skills in troubleshooting and fixing vehicles on the trail are second to none. He has a passion for the Overland Lifestyle, culinary delights, Land Rovers, and animals. He and his wife brought Moss Adventures—an experiential and adventure travel company focused on overland expeditions in custom-built Land Rovers—to Raton in 2022. In 2024, he started Raton Property Maintenance.
Brandy Dietz | Vice President | Treasurer
Brandy Dietz has been a member of GrowRaton since December 2021. Brandy is formerly the marketing director of a national plaintiffs’ law firm based in Dallas, Texas, where she worked for over 20 years. She is skilled in digital media and has an associate’s degree in communications. Brandy and her husband, Michael Brown, moved to Raton in 2020 after purchasing Raton Pass Motor Inn, a vintage roadside motel. With an interest in experiential travel, Brandy enjoys welcoming people to the Motor Inn and providing a motel experience that leaves guests eager to return. Brandy believes that giving back to the community is an important responsibility. As an advocate for professional development and small business, she serves on the Raton Lodgers Tax Advisory Board (2022-present), she was appointed to serve on the North Central New Mexico Economic Development District Board (2023-present) by the Colfax County, NM Commission. Brandy has served as GrowRaton’s vice president and acting treasurer since 2025, and formerly served on the Northeastern New Mexico Economic Development Organization (NEEDO) board (2023-2026).She served in leadership roles with the Legal Marketing Association from 2013 to 2018. She was a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor and matched with her Little for over ten years. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Brandy is a member of the Sierra Club and Friends of Sugarite. In her spare time, she loves traveling, running, mountain biking, hiking, and sailing.
Dr. Loretta Conder | Secretary
Dr. Loretta Conder has been a board member of GrowRaton since December of 2024, and serves as the organization’s secretary. Dr. Conder is a practicing internist in Raton, New Mexico. She received her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and has been practicing for over 30 years. Her top areas of expertise are Type 2 Diabetes, Renovascular Hypertension, Nephrosclerosis, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Dr. Conder is affiliated with Miners’ Colfax Medical Center, where she also serves as vice chair on the Board of Trustees.
Jason Bennett | Director
Jason Bennett joined GrowRaton’s board of directors in October 2026. Jason is a Raton-based entrepreneur, community builder, and civic advocate with a strong commitment to public service. As co-founder of Run to Raton, a motorcycle rally and festival, and owner of 111 Park Espresso Bar & Cafe, Jason has played a key role in revitalizing local landmarks, including the Raton Pass Motor Inn, and transforming downtown properties into vibrant community spaces. As an active and hands-on leader, Jason regularly attends City Commission meetings and serves on the Raton Planning and Zoning Board. His leadership emphasizes advancing sustainable growth, local entrepreneurship, and fostering an accessible, collaborative approach to city government.
Sean Humphrey | Director
With several years of dedicated service in New Mexico’s food system, Sean has played a key role in advancing the growth and sustainability of local food initiatives. His background includes 25 years of experience in restaurant operations, encompassing restaurant design, menu development, financial oversight, and full-scale operational management. This unique blend of industry knowledge and community-driven focus has allowed him to bridge the gap between food production, distribution, and consumer access—strengthening local food systems while promoting economic development and healthy communities.
As an advocate for business entrepreneurship, he has actively collaborated with organizations such as New Mexico Grown, promoting the state’s rich agricultural heritage and supporting local producers. These efforts have helped increase visibility for New Mexico’s diverse food products while fostering stronger community connections and driving local economic growth. He currently serves as a member of the New Mexico Food and Agriculture Policy Council, where he contributes to strategic direction as part of the Governance Committee. Through this work, he remains committed to shaping policies that strengthen local food systems and empower agricultural entrepreneurs across the state.
