Creating a Workforce for the Future

The State of New Mexico Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) was ranked the 5th Best Workforce Development Program in the nation by Business Facilities magazine in its August 3, 2016, 12th Annual Rankings Report.  JTIP reimburses 50% to 75% of a new employee’s wages during training.  Additionally, during the 2016 legislative session, $1.25 million was appropriated under the Rapid Workforce Development Act to provide funds to New Mexico institutions of higher education for specialized training to insure rapid workforce deployment to businesses locating here.  The State also provides ISO 9001:2008 training for businesses through its New Mexico 9000 program at a very reasonable cost to the business.
